We are also the Pinnacle body for Specific Learning Difficulties in Victoria, meeting with government and the community to recommend for change. For the final 48 years we have worked to serve the estimated 1 in 10 Victorians with Specific Learning Difficulties (like Dyslexia). Today, our shared vision is that every Victorian kid has the opportunity to arrive their learning potential. We labor with our members, government, schools and the community to make this vision a reality for children with sleds. Dyslexia and sleds are not an intellectual disability, yet these children, their teachers and community often do not comprehend their condition. Frustratingly, their opportunity to achieve their learning potential is limited by this deficit of understanding and support. Imagine all these kids got the promote they required when they needed it most. Train teachers and schools to better urge students with sleds. This year, documenting the history of sped Victoria is a Board priority. It is important to remember those who worked so passionately to make sped Victoria what it is today and record their efforts formally and say thank you. Stephanie has extensive experience providing strategic communications' advice and media urge to organizations across the notforprofit, youth and education sectors. Acquired over a career spanning 25 years, she has gained experience in all aspects of financial management, reporting, corporate governance and business planning in both the public sector, specifically education, and also in commercial environments. Fiona has over 22 years of experience working in the corporate, notforprofit and prosperity management sectors. Fiona’s vogue role is as a Client Director at the Dyer Family Company Ltd. She works with families to provide strategic advice in the areas of succession, governance and estate planning. Fiona is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a 17 year worn son with stern dyslexia and so has a sincere interest in supporting sped both from a governance perspective and also as a parent of a kid with learning difficulties. She has worked with parents and students on college projects from Fetes and Debutante Balls to planning the Jubilee events for her college. A notable please was in the field of International students as Jenny both housed and visited families to supervise students' integration and learning. Ian has extensive experience in accounting, corporate finance and strategy and is happy to be involved with sped an organization that assisted his family decades ago. Claire is an experienced executive and senior manager in the arts and cultural sectors, with arts organizations, StateLocal Government and manager of important teams. Michelle is both an experienced classroom and notable education teacher, with a specialization in the learning difficulty Dyslexia. The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development offers learning and development support, services and resources for all Victorians, from beginning through to adulthood. Our experienced team of Educational Psychologists produce assessments and reports to assist children comprehend their learning disorder, their literacy weaknesses and relative strengths. As a member based organist ion it is important for sped to regularly report back to members on our progress and plans. Annual General Meetings are one way members can meet with the sped team board and staff to ensure that the organization is representing shier needs.
