Each day or session is taught by australia's leading film industry practitioners in the their area of expertise. The teaching course "from script to screen", can be taken in full (18 days including the 2 day documentary filmmaking course, cinematography intensive and writing days), in part (15 days) or as an introductory course (11 days) or participants can choose their own days and make up their own course/s.

The Filmmaking Summer School can be taken in packed or participants can choose their own days and make up their own courses. The Script to Screen, Cinematography and Low Budget Filmmaking courses are originate for people of all ages with small or no before film making experience, practicing film makers or actor wanting to change career direction as well as media teachers and students, production companies wishing to train staff, photographers wanting to move to the moving image, and anyone wants to understand, and learn, all the steps to make immense films. The only film school for beginners taught industry level. Exploring specific tools and techniques worn by actors and directors and designed to profit experiential insight into the actor's and director's craft. Participants will act direct concise scenes and have a great time discovering how to bring a script to life. Even if you don’t see yourself as a screenwriter, this course will present you an insight into the process that will enhance your viewing. It would also be an excellent introduction to the process for producers, directors, cinematographers and other crew members who want a greater understanding of story. We will observe specific scenes in scripts and films to work out what makes a good shot and why. Participants will make a concise film which will be shown and discussed in class on the final day. This exercise aims to enhance participants accepting of how images can put all kinds of stories together, and get people making their own films with the collaboration with others. We'll learn how to block scenes, how to labor with actors and how to labor with gaffers. We'll also see how Steadicam works to enhance storytelling and total production values through camera movement. What impact does digital technology have on how documentaries are made and seen. (Documentary editing is covered in Principles of Editing in Script to Screen course but will be revised). You might also like to arrive to the 5 Day Cinematography Intensive where participants, in groups and individually, make a series of concise films. This exercise aims to enhance participants accepting of how images can put all kinds of stories together, and get people making their own films and collaborating with others. This 2 day course is for beginners, filmmakers on a budget, media teachers and students, and people generally wanting to learn the essentials of film making. This course is also aimed at one man band or small crews with small or no budget. While there will be cameras available to shoot with at the course, participants are encouraged to bring, and use, their own cameras (and tripod if you have one) to experiment with the techniques demonstrated at the course. This is a very hand son course and we encourage all participants to be involved in all aspects' camera, sound, directing, acting and editing everything we shoot in class. We can improve your skills with lighting and safe to make your productions look professional.
